We’ve been using Mr. Fridge for our AC systems at both our businesses and our homes for some time now, and they have been fantastic. Sam, one of their technicians, has been especially great to work with. They are honest, reliable, and always try to get us the best deal on parts instead of pushing unnecessary repairs. Their prices have always been reasonable, and the work is done right. Whenever we’ve had an issue, they’ve been quick to respond and get things taken care of. I definitely recommend them

Great service for our refrigerator repair. The team was professional, responsive, and got everything working properly again. While I feel the pricing is a bit on the higher side, I understand that costs can be influenced by demand and market conditions. Overall, I’m satisfied with the quality of the service and would recommend them.

Cant recommend Mr. Fridge enough. He has done a great job repairing my cooling units for my walk in cooler and beverage fridge. My beverage fridge had a leak that was difficult to find but they were very determined and easy to work with to figure out the issue. I've become committed to them as my go to cooler related repair company for my business.

Huge thanks to the team at Mr. Fridge! We needed to expand both our walk-in freezer and cooler because our catering business has been growing fast and we simply ran out of storage space for products. Gary helped us choose new systems for both the cooler and freezer and built out a completely new refrigeration and freezer setup for us Out of all the quotes and proposals we received, yours was by far the best in terms of value and professionalism. The whole process was smooth, communication was great, and the final result exceeded expectations I can confidently recommend Mr. Fridge to other business owners, and I’ve already shared your contact information with several entrepreneurs. Thanks again for the excellent work!💪

Solid crew and quick turnaround. I'm managing a restaurant remodel that required maintenance on an old walk-in cooler. The guys got the problem assessed within a day and had it fixed after install of new parts. Transparent estimate and no hidden fees and charges. Will use again.

Technician came out and diagnosed my Avantco fridge, but during the visit he removed the start relay and did not reinstall or return it. The unit was left unable to run, which makes it difficult to verify the diagnosis or get a second opinion. I was quoted over $1,400 for a compressor replacement, which may be fair, but removing a key component and not restoring the unit to its original condition is unprofessional. Would recommend making sure your equipment is left intact after service.

Mr. Fridge Austin

Walk-In Cooler Problems We Repair

Walk-in repair starts with why the whole room is warm, and the causes are rarely where people first look. A box climbing in temperature can trace to a low refrigerant charge, a condenser struggling on the roof or in a hot back-of-house, an evaporator glazed in ice, a defrost cycle that quit, or a door that no longer seals and pours warm air in every time it opens.

Our technicians check the door and sweep gaskets, the evaporator and defrost, the condensing unit, the charge, and the controls before quoting an Austin, TX business, so the repair fixes the real cause and the room holds temperature.

Once the equipment is running properly, planned commercial refrigeration maintenance helps catch wear before another breakdown.

Find why the box is running warm, drifting, or failing to recover after heavy door traffic.

Inspect fans, coils, ice patterns, and airflow restrictions that keep Austin walk-ins from holding temp.

Repair air leaks, bad sweeps, worn gaskets, and door issues that waste cooling capacity.

Check condenser condition, electrical components, pressure symptoms, and compressor performance.

Address clogged drains, standing water, and freeze-up conditions before they damage floors or product.

Repair icing, defrost, fan, and temperature-control problems in low-temp walk-in equipment.

Verify sensors, thermostats, controllers, and settings so the box holds the correct range.

Service walk-ins for kitchens, grocers, bars, hotels, c-stores, and food-production operators.

Prioritize calls where warm product, failed logs, or food-safety risk creates immediate exposure.

Explain whether the problem is repairable or whether a replacement walk-in should be considered.

Best Commercial Refrigeration Repair Team in Austin Metropolitan Area

A walk-in is a whole refrigerated room - condensing unit, evaporator, defrost, door, and panels working as one - so a lasting repair has to find which part actually let the temperature go. Mr. Fridge Austin repairs commercial walk-in coolers and freezers for Austin, TX restaurants, bars, and grocers by reading the full system, confirming the fault at the box, and repairing that instead of the symptom, so the room holds safe temperature and protects what is inside. If other units are also losing temperature, our commercial refrigeration repair service can address the wider system.

Our technicians continue their education through technical classes and equipment training, keeping their knowledge of refrigeration systems, controls and diagnostic methods up to date.

Why Choose Mr. Fridge Austin?

Fast, Affordable and Done Right Commercial Refrigeration Repair

Austin, TX businesses choose Mr. Fridge Austin for walk-in repair because a warm box is an urgent, expensive problem and we treat it that way - fast response, whole-system diagnosis, honest pricing, and a guarantee behind the work. When a compressor or condensing unit is genuinely past its life, we tell you plainly rather than billing you toward a replacement one part at a time. When the box needs replacement rather than another repair, we can plan walk-in cooler installation around the site’s storage needs.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about walk-in cooler repair in Austin, TX. Call (512) 812-9808 for scheduling or urgent service.

Same-day visits are available when the schedule allows; most appointments are next day. For a warming walk-in, call (512) 812-9808 and tell us the symptoms and location so we can confirm the earliest opening. We are open 8 AM-8 PM daily.

Typically gaskets, defrost, or a condenser that cannot shed heat. We measure before quoting rather than guessing.

Both. And every technician works commercial equipment full time, which is why diagnosis tends to be quick.

Part availability depends on the failed component and your equipment model. We confirm what is needed after diagnosis, explain availability and arrange a return visit if a part must be ordered.

The diagnostic visit for a walk-in cooler or freezer is $150. If you approve the repair, the full diagnostic fee is credited toward the repair cost. If you decline the repair, the diagnostic fee applies. We quote the full repair before work begins.

Then so do we. Every repair carries a one-year warranty covering our workmanship, with parts covered by their manufacturer.

Some repairs can be completed during the first visit. Others need a specific part or additional work. After diagnosis, we explain the repair plan, parts availability and whether another visit is needed.

Almost certainly. We run Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Leander daily. Call and we will confirm in seconds.

Our labor is guaranteed a full year, and parts are covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. If our fix does not hold, we are back out to make it right on our dime.

We work Austin and the whole metro: Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Leander, Pflugerville, and the surrounding towns listed below. If you are just outside those, a quick call settles it.

Most walk-in calls in Austin land between $250 and $650 - door gaskets, door heaters, and evaporator fan motors lead the list. A failed condensing unit is the other end of the scale, usually $2,500-$6,000 installed. Firm numbers follow the diagnostic; say yes to the estimate and that visit money is not wasted.

The fee reflects the complexity of the equipment and the time usually needed to diagnose it. A residential refrigerator is generally a more compact system. Commercial equipment can require more checks of its cooling, electrical and control components. Walk-in systems often have separate evaporators, condensing units and controls, so tracing the fault and checking the whole system usually takes longer. The exact diagnostic time depends on the fault and access to the equipment.
