We’ve been using Mr. Fridge for our AC systems at both our businesses and our homes for some time now, and they have been fantastic. Sam, one of their technicians, has been especially great to work with. They are honest, reliable, and always try to get us the best deal on parts instead of pushing unnecessary repairs. Their prices have always been reasonable, and the work is done right. Whenever we’ve had an issue, they’ve been quick to respond and get things taken care of. I definitely recommend them

Great service for our refrigerator repair. The team was professional, responsive, and got everything working properly again. While I feel the pricing is a bit on the higher side, I understand that costs can be influenced by demand and market conditions. Overall, I’m satisfied with the quality of the service and would recommend them.

Cant recommend Mr. Fridge enough. He has done a great job repairing my cooling units for my walk in cooler and beverage fridge. My beverage fridge had a leak that was difficult to find but they were very determined and easy to work with to figure out the issue. I've become committed to them as my go to cooler related repair company for my business.

Huge thanks to the team at Mr. Fridge! We needed to expand both our walk-in freezer and cooler because our catering business has been growing fast and we simply ran out of storage space for products. Gary helped us choose new systems for both the cooler and freezer and built out a completely new refrigeration and freezer setup for us Out of all the quotes and proposals we received, yours was by far the best in terms of value and professionalism. The whole process was smooth, communication was great, and the final result exceeded expectations I can confidently recommend Mr. Fridge to other business owners, and I’ve already shared your contact information with several entrepreneurs. Thanks again for the excellent work!💪

Solid crew and quick turnaround. I'm managing a restaurant remodel that required maintenance on an old walk-in cooler. The guys got the problem assessed within a day and had it fixed after install of new parts. Transparent estimate and no hidden fees and charges. Will use again.

Technician came out and diagnosed my Avantco fridge, but during the visit he removed the start relay and did not reinstall or return it. The unit was left unable to run, which makes it difficult to verify the diagnosis or get a second opinion. I was quoted over $1,400 for a compressor replacement, which may be fair, but removing a key component and not restoring the unit to its original condition is unprofessional. Would recommend making sure your equipment is left intact after service.

    Planned Before Work Starts

    What Your Walk-In Installation Includes

Your busiest delivery day matters as much as the floor plan. We review product volume, loading temperature, door traffic and future capacity, then plan the footprint, door swing and shelving clearances. The aim is usable storage without paying for unnecessary box size or refrigeration capacity.

We assemble and align the insulated panels, secure the joints and seal penetrations to limit heat and moisture entering the box. Floor condition, load requirements and the need for an insulated floor are reviewed before assembly. Freezer floor requirements differ from those of a refrigerated cooler.

The refrigeration system must match the box and operating conditions. We review evaporator capacity and airflow, condenser location and the required controls. Equipment selection accounts for product load and surrounding heat, not just square footage, so the system can recover after deliveries and frequent door openings.

Wrong voltage, missing circuits or an unfinished drain can hold up a completed box. We identify power requirements, disconnects, condensate routing and access needs in advance, and clarify which work belongs in our scope and which needs your electrician, plumber or general contractor.

Before handoff, we check refrigerant piping integrity, evacuation and charge where applicable, along with fans, controls and drainage. We verify pull-down and holding temperature against the agreed operating target. Freezer startup also requires attention to defrost operation and applicable door or drain heaters.

A failed box creates a storage problem as well as an installation job. We review removal access, the condition of the existing floor and any equipment proposed for reuse. The changeover plan covers deliveries, teardown, assembly and startup so you can arrange stock transfer and temporary cold storage.

A door that drags or fails to seal lets warm, humid air enter throughout the day. We check frame alignment, hinges, closing action, gasket contact and the threshold. Door width and swing should also suit your carts, deliveries and working aisle.

Condensers need room to reject heat and remain accessible for cleaning and repairs. We consider ventilation, ambient heat, noise, line length and service clearances. Rooftop or remote installations may involve lifting and access arrangements that should be identified before the quote is approved.

Line sizing and routing depend on the selected equipment, distance and elevation between components. We plan supports, insulation and sealed wall penetrations, following the manufacturer's requirements. A serviceable route helps avoid condensation problems and makes future maintenance easier.

Storage capacity is only useful if staff can reach the stock and cold air can circulate. We discuss shelving depth, aisle space, cart access and clearances around the evaporator. Overloading the box or blocking airflow can create warm spots even when the refrigeration equipment is operating.

Affordable Starts With the Right Scope

A smaller equipment price is only part of the total. Panels, refrigeration, delivery access, electrical work, drains, removal and startup can all affect the installed cost. We explain what is included and flag site work that needs separate pricing.

We help compare standard sizes and equipment options against your storage needs. If an existing box may be worth keeping, we can discuss walk-in cooler repair before you commit to replacement. Any proposed scope changes are priced for your approval.

    Fast Installation Starts Before Delivery

The quickest install is the one with equipment, access and utilities ready when the crew arrives. Tell us your opening date or replacement deadline early. We review dimensions, delivery routes, condenser placement and electrical readiness to avoid preventable return trips.

Many straightforward on-site installations take one to three days once the equipment is delivered and the site is ready. Custom fabrication, permits, electrical upgrades, difficult access and larger builds can extend the overall timeline. We confirm your project schedule rather than treating delivery lead time as installation time.

    Performance Beyond the Install Day

Cold Storage You Can Put to Work

A finished box should do more than feel cold when the door is closed. We check airflow, controls, seals, drainage and temperature pull-down, then explain the operating target and when the system is ready to load.

Correct sizing and tight seals help limit avoidable run time. We also discuss loading clearances, condenser cleaning and refrigeration maintenance so blocked airflow and neglected components do not undermine your new installation.

    Who We Serve

Trusted by Businesses Across Austin Metropolitan Area

For broader build-outs, we also coordinate commercial ice machine installation and wine cellar cooling installation.

    FAQ

Installation Cost, Timing & Planning FAQs

Straight answers before you order a box, approve a quote or schedule a changeover.

Installation is quoted for your project. Box dimensions, cooler versus freezer specifications, refrigeration capacity, line length, access, removal and site work all affect the total. We explain the equipment and labor scope, any exclusions and required site preparation before you approve the quote.

We will match or beat a comparable written installation quote. Send the equipment specifications, included labor and site-work details so we can compare the same scope. The comparison must cover equivalent equipment, warranty coverage and installation requirements. We confirm the matched or improved quote after reviewing the scope and site.

Send your service ZIP code, approximate width, depth and height, site photos, whether you need a cooler or freezer, and your target date. Tell us if equipment has already been purchased or an old walk-in needs removal. We review the details promptly and confirm whether a site visit is needed before final pricing.

Many straightforward installations take one to three days on site once the equipment is delivered and the site is ready. Equipment lead times, custom panels, permits, electrical work, difficult access and larger projects can add time. Your quote and scheduling discussion will distinguish preparation and delivery from the installation itself.

We plan the removal and installation sequence around your operation to reduce disruption where practical. Tell us what inventory is at risk and what alternative storage you have. Stock transfer and temporary cold storage need to be arranged before shutdown; a replacement does not guarantee uninterrupted refrigeration.

We consider stored product volume, incoming product temperature, delivery frequency, door openings, shelving, surrounding heat and future capacity. Box area alone does not determine refrigeration load. A storage cooler should not be assumed to have the rapid cooling capacity of a purpose-built blast chiller.

Yes, we install commercial walk-in coolers and freezers. For outdoor or remote arrangements, we review weather exposure, base and roof requirements, condenser ventilation and utility routing. Freezers also require attention to insulation, floor design, defrost and applicable heaters. The final design follows the selected equipment and site requirements.

Potential reuse needs inspection. Panel condition, dimensions, joints, door fit, refrigeration capacity and equipment compatibility matter. We can discuss what is practical to retain and what should be replaced, but existing components should not be assumed suitable until reviewed.

We install to manufacturer specifications and applicable local building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and energy requirements. Before work starts, we confirm the required permits, inspections and site preparation, and clarify which items are included in our scope or require a separate licensed trade or general contractor. Approved plans, equipment instructions, access clearances and condensate drainage are addressed as applicable. Requirements depend on the project and the local authority.

We work with all major walk-in cooler and freezer brands, including Kolpak, Amerikooler, Nor-Lake, Master-Bilt, Bally, Polar King and more. Share the model or proposed equipment specifications so we can confirm the installation requirements and compatibility.

Our installation workmanship is covered for one year. Equipment and replacement parts carry their applicable manufacturer warranties. We explain the coverage and operation or maintenance requirements relevant to your installation.

We install walk-in coolers and freezers throughout Austin and the surrounding metro, including Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville and Leander. Share the service ZIP code to confirm coverage and the earliest available site review.
